Certain landscape situations may be best suited to grass mixtures. Mixtures are defined as a mix of different grass species (i.e. Bluegrass and Perennial Ryegrass) as opposed to grass blends which are varieties of the same species (i.e. Perennial Ryegrass Blend of 3 varieties). A mixture offers more turfgrass characteristics that may address certain site conditions such as shade, sun and shade, wear tolerance and appearance.
