Leaves are trifoliate (three leaflets), with oval to wedge-shaped leaflets that are pale green and often marked with lighter crescents. Produces rounded flower heads about ¾ inch (1.5–2 cm) across, consisting of many small flowers. Drought tolerant once established and well adapted to Mediterranean climates.
